Lyle Robert Neumann

Lyle Robert Neumann of Le Sueur, MN passed away March 23, 2024 at the Belle Plaine Lutheran Home surrounded by family, at the age of 76.

Lyle was born on March 1, 1948 in Shakopee, MN to Arthur and Neesa (Hollander) Neumann of Belle Plaine, MN. Lyle was the youngest of 3 children. Lyle grew up in Belle Plaine and attended Trinity Lutheran Grade school and Belle Plaine High School. He remained close to his siblings Roger (Peggy) Neumann and Shirley Neumann Jackson throughout their lives.

Lyle married the love of his life Nadine (Fries), on November 21, 1970. As a husband, Lyle was a source of unwavering love and support. Together they raised 4 children, to whom he was a pillar of strength and a guiding light. Later he became a constant and dependable fixture in the lives of his 13 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Lyle started working at a young age and spent the majority of his career as a truck driver, working until age 75. He was very proud of his black Mack semi truck which was used to pull belly, side, and end dump trailers for road construction. His coworkers and friends describe him as being dependable with an amazing work ethic. He was often the first one to arrive in the morning and the last one to leave at night. Lyle always had stories to tell and started his day with a joke and smile. Driving truck was not simply a career for Lyle, it was part of his identity.

Lyle enjoyed spending time with his family when he wasn’t driving truck. He enjoyed traveling with his wife over the years. Some of his favorite trips were to Branson, MO, Hawaii and Graceland. He enjoyed sharing his love for old cars and car shows with his sons, grandsons and friends. Lyle enjoyed road trips to flea-markets, car shows, bingo, demolition derbies and watching car races.

Lyle is survived by his wife of 53 years, Nadine (Fries) Neumann of Le Sueur, MN, his daughters, Kerry Olsen-Steece (Troy Steece) of Owatonna, MN and Becky Neumann of Mankato, MN, his sons, Troy ( Jennifer) Neumann of Saint Ansgar, IA and Cory (Becky) Neumann of Prior Lake, MN, 13 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, in-laws, and friends.

Lyle is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur & Neesa Neumann, siblings, Roger Neumann of Prior Lake, MN & Shirley Neumann Jackson of St. Paul, MN. In-laws, George & Lucille (Schaefer) Fries of Henderson, MN.

Please join Lyle’s family in celebrating his life on Thursday, March 28, 2024 at Zion United Church of Christ in Le Sueur, MN at 11 A.M. Visitation will be held from 9-11 A.M. Following the 11 A.M. service, lunch will be provided in the church social hall for fellowship and memories. Interment will follow lunch at Oakwood Cemetery in Belle Plaine, MN.
