Bruce J. Cummins, age 67 of Le Sueur, died Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at the VA Hospital in Minneapolis. Memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Le Sueur. Visitation will be Tuesday, October 2 at Kolden Funeral Home in Le Sueur from 4-7 p.m. concluding with a prayer service at 7 p.m., and will continue one hour prior to service time at the church on Wednesday. Interment will be in St. Anne's Catholic Cemetery, Le Sueur.
Bruce was born on August 5, 1951 to Stan and Goldie (Hammett) Cummins in Waseca, MN. He graduated from Janesville High School in 1969. Right out of high school, he joined the U.S. Marine Corp. and served in the Vietnam War. He worked as a police officer in Waterville for several years, and then became a Sheriff Deputy and worked in both Le Sueur and Waseca Counties. Bruce married Jenny Wiskocil on October 19, 2002 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Montgomery. He retired in 2003 from the Le Sueur County Sheriff's Office.
Bruce was a member of the American Legion and VFW of Le Center. He was an avid outdoorsman, and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed western movies.
Bruce is survived by his wife, Jenny; son, Josh; daughter, Jackie Cummins of Lake Mills, IA; grandchildren, Paige, Chelsea, and Addison Kopp; siblings, Jim (Arlene) Cummins of Rochester, Gary "Boog" (Connie) Cummins of Janesville, Richard "Dick" Cummins of Janesville, Becky (Steve) Fuller of Long Beach, CA, and Ron (Cheeny) Cummins of Janesville; mother-in-law, Loretta Wiskocil of Le Sueur; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, John (Kathy) Wiskocil of Montgomery, and Milt (Peggy) Wiskocil of Morristown; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Bill Cummins; sister, Judy (Holland) Holtz; and father-in-law, Francis C. Wiskocil.
