Alvin J. Heinz, age 95 of Henderson, died on Friday afternoon at Oak Terrace in Le Sueur. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Wednesday, November 3, 2021, 11:00 a.m, St. Joseph's Church, Henderson, MN. Visitation will be at the Kolden Funeral Home, Le Sueur on Wednesday morning, 9:00 a.m. ~ 10:30 a.m, we will then process to St. Joseph's in Henderson for the 11:00 a.m. Mass. Burial with Military Honors will follow Mass at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Henderson, MN.
Alvin was born August 17, 1926, in Henderson, MN. The son of Nicholas and Marie (Durken) Heinz. He graduated from Henderson High School in 1944. Alvin honorably served his country 1946-1947 in the army in the post-war occupation of Japan, where he was a section leader. He was a lifelong farmer on the land his grandfather purchased100 years ago. He married JoAnn (Hessian) on August 2, 1958. He was also a life-long member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church where he served as a trustee and finance committee member. He also served on the Sibley County Extension Committee.
He is survived by his wife, JoAnn. Children: Steve (Joan), Russ, Jerry (Marion), Ellen (Dan) Kroehler. Grandchildren: Stephanie (Patrick) Murphy, Jessica, and Nick (Amber); Travis (Corissa), Jacob, Michael, Patrick, and Mary (Braiden) Trouten; Hillary (Nick) Leninger, Nicole (Jake) Meidl, Hollie (Anthony)Wilma. Great grandchildren: Levi, Stella, Charlie, Isabel, Victoria, and Eleanor. Alvin was preceded in death by his parents, parent-in-laws Emmett and Oleta Hessian, brothers George and John, and sister Margaret Brosig.
