Laura J. (Plieseis) Mediger

Laura Jean Mediger, age 78 of Le Sueur, died Saturday, April 10, 2021 at the Ridgeview Nursing Home in Le Sueur.  Memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 16, 2021 at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Henderson. Visitation will be 2 hours prior to the service at church. Interment will be in Brown Cemetery, Henderson.

  *Due to the church’s restoration project, everyone must enter through the back of the church-Mill St., rides will be available from the downtown parking lot if needed. 

Laura was born on July 14, 1942 to Ervin and Adelia (Wittenberg) Plieseis in New Auburn Township, Sibley County, MN.  She graduated from Le Sueur High School in 1960.  She was united in marriage to Conley J. Mediger on July 8, 1961; this July would have been their 60th wedding anniversary.  Laura worked for several years at the Le Sueur Creamery and then later drove school bus for the Le Sueur-Henderson School District.  She enjoyed her flower gardens.  She also liked collecting glassware, and spending time with her pet cats.

She is survived by her husband, Conley; children, Steven (Brooke) Mediger of Le Sueur, and Mark (Pam) Mediger of Le Sueur; grandchildren, Bryan Winters, Nathan (Laura) Mediger, and Abigail (Jacob) Knutson; great-grandchildren, Hailee Winters, and Lena and Olivia Mediger; siblings, Rosemary (Willard) Anderson, Janet (Richard) Benson, Robert (Barb) Plieseis, and Bonnie (Phil) Bailey; and step mother-in-law, Shirley Mediger.

Laura is preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, Shirley (Bob) Taylor, Harold (Shirley) Plieseis, Beverly (Hank) Floer, Martin Plieseis, and Judy Olsson.
