Mark Zeiher Obituary

Mark Allan Zeiher, age 60 of Le Sueur, passed away peacefully after his third massive brain hemorrhage in four years, on Sunday March 31, 2024. He was surrounded by family at Mayo Health System in Mankato, MN.

Funeral Service will be held Saturday, April 6, 2024 at 11 a.m. at First Lutheran Church in Le Sueur, MN. Burial will be at Arlington Public Cemetery following a luncheon at the church. Visitation will be Friday, April 5, 2024 from 4-7 p.m. at First Lutheran Church, and continued one hour prior to the service.

Mark was born on July 24, 1963 in Glencoe, MN to Allan and Doris (Litzau) Zeiher. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Brendan Catholic Church in Green Isle, MN. He grew up in Green Isle on the family farm, attended elementary school in Green Isle, and graduated from Arlington-Green Isle High School in 1981. Following high school, Mark began his career in carpentry and construction, working both residential and commercial jobs in the five-state area. He primarily worked for Erdahl Construction as well as other companies throughout the years including Haggenmiller Construction, TECH Builders Inc, RJ Marco Construction, and Blagg Construction. It was on these jobs as a carpenter and project superintendent that he met some of his closest friends. He took great pride in the quality of his work and will be remembered for not only his skills but for his sense of humor and pranks.

He married his high school sweetheart, Ann Reilly on August 29, 1987. They lived in Faribault and Fairmont before settling in Le Sueur in 1992 where they raised their family.

Mark enjoyed time with his family and attending his kids' many activities and sporting events. He had a passion for the outdoors and was an avid conservationist, spending time on the family farm, hunting, and fishing. Hunting brought Mark so much joy and connection with his son Mason and close family and friends, especially. Over the years trips and excursions have been one of the many ways he lived fully and created memories - camping with family and friends when the kids were young, day trips in the convertible, road trips near and far, hunting trips, attending concerts, and utilizing the vacation club.

Some of Mark’s fondest memories were decades of shared laughs and postgame shenanigans with great friends while playing softball and volleyball in local leagues. He was a conversationalist with a very kind heart and enjoyed connecting with others. Mark was a caregiver by nature and a skilled cook, baker, and grill master. He made sure to have the Vikings game on every Sunday, the Twins during summer nights, and enjoyed playing sheepshead. In later years, Mark loved watching evening shows and programs with Ann. He cherished spending time with his young grandsons, laughing at their new babbles, stumbles, and imparting his signature wit.

Mark is survived by his wife of 36 years, Ann (Reilly) Zeiher; children, Megan (Christian) Dwyer of Minneapolis, Amber (Bob) Rose of New Prague, and Mason (Katie Holten) Zeiher of Le Sueur; grandsons, Kyler and Jackson Rose and Zeke Dwyer; his brothers, Scott (Colleen) Zeiher of Green Isle and Cory (Jana) Zeiher of Cold Spring; stepfather Ray Heimkes of Arlington; and many in-laws, nieces and nephews, and beloved friends.

Mark is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Brian Zeiher (2010).
