Amelia “Amie” Pianko Fogarty, age 98 of Belle Plaine, passed away April 24, 2019 at St. Gertrude’s in Shakopee. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 2, 2019 at Our Lady of the Prairie Catholic Church in Belle Plaine. Fr. Roger Hessian will officiate. Visitation will be 5:00 – 7:00 PM on Wednesday, May 1, at the Kolden Funeral Home in Belle Plaine. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Belle Plaine.
Amie was born to her parents, Henry and Mary (Ginter) Pianko on January 30, 1921 in rural Belle Plaine. After high school and college, her professional business career, primarily administrative, was her employment at Northwestern National Bank, subsequently Wells Fargo and at Exxon/Mobil Corporation from where she retired early after twenty-three plus years.
After retiring, she and her husband spent many summers at their Green Lake home in Spicer, MN. Traveling together was a rewarding experience for her. Amie had many interests during her life, including golfing, bowling, playing Bridge, crosswords and spectator sports. She is preceded in death by her husband David.
She is survived by many loving and caring nieces and nephews and her extended family. Sheral and James Colville family of Arizona. Memorials, if desired, to Our Lady of the Prairie Catholic Church or donor choice.
