Bill Lehman, age 86 of Belle Plaine, died on May 4, 2019 at Ridgeview Hospital in Waconia. Memorial Mass will be on Wednesday, May 8 at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of the Prairie Catholic Church in Belle Plaine, MN. Visitation will be at the church from 9:00 a.m. until Mass time on Wednesday. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Belle Plaine, MN. Fr. Roger Hessian will officiate the Mass and committal services. Lunch to follow in church social hall.
William Lehman was born in Blakeley on January 26, 1933 to Gerald and Rose (Weldon) Lehman. He grew up in Blakeley and graduated from Belle Plaine High School in 1951. He attended St. John’s University and served his country in the Army. He married Lois Bromaghim on January 15, 1955 at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Belle Plaine. He worked on the railroad for a time and worked for 30 years at the Green Giant can plant in Savage, MN. During that time he also drove dump truck, carried rural mail and Sunday newspaper. Bill enjoyed woodworking, fishing, mowing his lawn and when he was able, he loved to walk.
He is survived by his children; Beth (Jerome) Flaherty of Belle Plaine, MN; Steve (Mary) Lehman of Belle Plaine, MN; Julie Lehman of Belle Plaine, MN; Jacki (Keith) Siemon of Belle Plaine; Matt Lehman (friend, Laureen Wermerskirchen) of Henderson; Will Lehman of Lancaster, S.C; Dan (Connie) Lehman of Belle Plaine, MN and Dennis (Chris) Lehman of Ramsey, MN. 16 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren, sister Judy Ash, sister in law Luella Bromaghim, brother in law Fred Schultz and many nieces, nephews and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and wife, Lois.
