Evelyn L. Tiegs, age 81 of Henderson, died Monday, December 17, 2018 at her son’s home in Montgomery. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 21 at Centennial Lutheran Church in Henderson with Pastor Frederick Hinz officiating. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, December 20 at the church, and will continue Friday morning one hour prior to service time. Interment will be in Brown Cemetery, Henderson.
Evelyn was born on December 7, 1937 to Ernest and Regina (Brockoff) Buck in Green Isle. She married Monroe Tiegs on July 17, 1954 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Green Isle. She worked for the St. Peter State Hospital as an LPN. She later worked in the kitchen for the Henderson public school. In 1965 she and her husband started the M&E Parade Float Rentals, where she worked up until the end of this year’s parade season. Evelyn enjoyed floral gardening, embroidering, and reading biographies. Above all else, Evelyn cherished the moments spent with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Diane (Bob Tjostelson) Tiegs of Coon Rapids, Duane (Mary) Tiegs of Henderson, Donna (Dave) Ricks of Northfield, and David (Kristin) Tiegs of Montgomery; grandchildren, Adam (Jeet) Poole, Sarah (Jason) Thompson, Andrew (Jane) Poole, Lisa (Curt) Peterson, Michael (fiancée, Sarah Owen) Tiegs, and Karissa Ricks; great-grandchildren, Caleb, Kaitlyn, and Gabriel Thompson, Nora, Lucy, and Asha Poole, and Andrew, Mitchell, and Kinsley Tiegs; seven siblings; and many other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Monroe in 2015; and two siblings.
