Helene M. Borchert, age 80 of Le Sueur, died on Thursday, December 6, 2018 at North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at 11 a.m. at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Le Sueur. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuedsay morning. Interment will be in the Hatfield Cemetery in Hatfield, Wisconsin on Thursday, December 13 at 11 a.m.
She was born on April 18, 1938 near Chicago to Jerry and Helen Suchanek. Helene graduated from Black River Falls High School and then attained medical technology training in Minneapolis, where she met her husband to be, Michael Borchert. They were married on November 7, 1959 in Black River Falls. They lived in Mountain Lake for a short time and moved to Le Sueur in the early 1960’s. She worked as a lab tech for local physicians and later in the business office of the Minnesota Valley Memorial Hospital. She was an active member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church, was a social member of a “sewing group”, enjoyed lunches with friends, especially at the Olive Garden, shopping, trips to Las Vegas, the Minnesota Orchestra and a fondness for cats.
She is survived by her husband, Michael; sisters-in-law, Ann Suchanek of Black River Falls, and Sue (Phil) Liesch of New Ulm and a nephew and several nieces and dear friend, Jane King.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Jerry Suchanek; and brother-in-law, Bill Borchert.
