Marvin was born on March 6, 1934 to Ole and Helen (Thorsen) Lee in Fairview, MT.  He graduated from High School in 1952 in Kalispell, MT.  He enlisted in the United States Navy and served his country from 1952 to 1956.  He then spent four years in the U.S. Reserves and was honorably discharged in 1960.
