Orville Renneke Obituary

Orville Albert Renneke, hard working farmer, father of of six daughters, husband of Millie for 71 years, passed away December 24, 2018 surrounded by family.  His work here on earth was done and now he could breathe again with ease in the arms of his Lord.

He was born July 21,1927 to Erthel and Esther Renneke in Arlington, Minnesota. There he met the love of his life, Mildred.  After a two year stint in the Army stationed in Korea, he returned to Minnesota to start farming in LeSueur. They moved to Belle Plaine after he bought his farm. At age 86 he had to give up his loved profession due to health issues. He continued to live his life with dignity and grace.

He is survived by his wife, Millie; six daughters, Renee Compo, (Bruce), Connie Nolen, (Randy), Nancy Myhr, Jill Leonard,(Daniel), Deb Traxler,(Dave), and Terry Carlson, (Randy); 17 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; and two brothers, Del (Mary Lou) and Dave (Donna).

He loved farming. A quote he often said was “how many people who have worked 66 plus years at the same job can say they loved their job as much as I did." He was also a very active member of Zion United Church of Christ. He loved to read, enjoyed sports and being his grandchildren's greatest fan. He and Mom also traveled to almost every state either by RV or plane.

He was respected and loved by many and will be deeply missed.
