Salome Wentzlaff, age 90 of Henderson died on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at the home of her daughter in rural Henderson. She was born on January 7, 1928 at Mobridge, S.D. to William and Effie (Stewart) Mudge. She grew up in Wakpala, S. D. and attended St. Lukes Teaching Hospital in Aberdeen, S.D. and became a Registered Nurse. Salome married Lawrence L. Wentzlaff on December 24, 1951 in Hot Springs,
South Dakota. As a result of Lawrence’s employment in construction they lived in South Dakota, Minnesota, Montana, and Kansas and she continued her nursing career. They settled in Henderson, Minnesota in 1964 and she worked as a Registered Nurse at the Arlington Good Samaritan Home for many years. Salome enjoyed puzzles, crocheting, was an avid reader, playing cribbage with family and time spent with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her children; Mary (Russ) Boelter of Henderson, Larry (Stephanie) Wentzlaff of Owatonna, Fred (Linda) Wentzlaff of Henderson,
Ron (special friend, Lynn Hanson) Wentzlaff of LeSueur, Gene (Theresa) Wentzlaff of Henderson, 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren as well as nieces and nephews. Salome was preceded in death by her husband in September of 2006 and 6 brothers, William, Stewart, Roxie, James, Don and Richard.
Funeral services will be on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at 11 A.M. at Centennial Lutheran Church in Henderson. A time of visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of services at the church on Saturday. Interment will be in the Brown Cemetery in Henderson. koldenfuneralhome.com
