Tammy Jo (Fahey) Schultz, age 51 of Belle Plaine, passed away surrounded by her family on Saturday, December 28, 2019 at the Lutheran Home in Belle Plaine after a courageous battle with Huntington’s disease. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, January 3, 2020 at Our Lady of the Prairie Catholic Church in Belle Plaine, Fr. Brian Lynch will officiate. Visitation will be from 4-8p.m. on Thursday, January 2, at the Kolden Funeral Home in Belle Plaine and continue one hour prior to Mass at church on Friday morning. Interment will be at a later date at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery in Faxon Township.
Tammy Jo was born in New Prague on June 7, 1968 to Joe and Janice (Shaughnessy) Fahey Jr. Tammy was baptized, received first communion and was confirmed at St. John’s Catholic Church in Faxon Township. She grew up in Belle Plaine and graduated from Belle Plaine High School. On February 18, 1989, she married Tom Schultz and they were blessed with three children. She worked for the State Bank of Belle Plaine, worked a short time at the Lutheran Home and also did bookkeeping for Tom Schultz Construction.
Tammy was an honorary member of the BPHS Cross Country Team’s “Who We Run For.” She enjoyed watching them at practices and cheering them on at races. Her brightest smiles and happiest days were when her grandsons came to visit. They, along with her children, were her pride and joy. Tammy also enjoyed playing bingo, going to music, walks and cheering on the Vikings. She is preceded in death by her mother, Janice in 2002.

Grandsons, Eli, Liam and Luka.

Siblings, Tracy (Troy) Witt, Joey (JoAnna) Fahey, Chris (Sara) Fahey and Ryan Fahey all of Belle Plaine, Step-sister, Kari (Nate) Plagge & Step-brother, Timothy R. Fahey both of Shakopee, many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and her dog, Bruin.
