Vickie Lynn Vycital

Vickie L. Vycital, age 71 of Elko, died Sunday, November 18, 2018 at her home with her family by her side.  Memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 27 at St. John Lutheran Church in Belle Plaine, with Pastor Mark Johnson officiating.  Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. on Monday, November 26 at the Kolden Funeral Home in Belle Plaine, and will continue one hour prior to service time at the church on Tuesday.  Interment will be in Ft. Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.

Vickie was born on April 15, 1947 to John and Inga (Kerst) Graham in Elgin, IL.  Her father was Illinois Senator, John A. Graham.  She received a Bachelor’s Degree from Southern Illinois State University.  She married Ronald Vycital on September 6, 1969 in Barrington, IL.  They lived in Carbondale, IL, Petersburg, IL and later made their way to Elko, MN.  She worked at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Fish Lake as the church secretary.  They also had a cabin up North on Lake Vermilion.

She loved animals, especially her small dogs, Annabelle, Rainy & Murphy.  She was a great mom who adored her children and grandchildren dearly.  She was a huge volleyball fan, and enjoyed attending all of her daughter’s and then her granddaughter’s volleyball games.

Vickie is survived by her husband, Ron; children, Wendy (Rob) Weaver of River Falls, WI, Adam (Kelli) Vycital of Lonsdale, MN, Brian (Sarah) Vycital of Belle Plaine, and Ashley (Joshua) Wilda of Grand Rapids, MI; grandchildren, Mackenzie, Hannah, and Tyler Vycital, Caden and Connor Vycital, and Jackson and Logan Wilda.

She is preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Steve Graham.
