Adeline L. Ahrens, age 94 of Belle Plaine and formerly of Jordan, died on June 22, 2011 at The Gardens at St. Gertrude's in Shakopee. Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 26, 2011 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jordan. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at church on Saturday. Rev. Jeremy Glowicki will officiate. Interment will be in the Oakwood Cemetery in Belle Plaine. Adeline was born on December 31, 1916 to Emil and Hanna (Malz) Freter in Blakeley Township, Minnesota. She attended country schools. On October 22, 1936, she married Wilmer Ahrens at St. John Lutheran Church in Belle Plaine where she taught Sunday School. They later joined St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jordan. She was a homemaker and worked part-time at Novak Drug in Belle Plaine. Adeline enjoyed congregate dinning, senior trips, flower and vegetable gardening. She is preceded in death by her parents and husband Wilmer in 1981 as well as several brothers and sisters. She is survived by sons, Ken (Jo) Ahrens of Eden Prairie, MN and David (Maria) Ahrens of St. Cloud. FL; grandchildren, Alyssa (Dustin) Cappelli, Dan (Christy), Brynn, Cassie and Nick Ahrens; 7 great grandchildren; sister, Elsie Guentzel ; lifelong friends and sister-in-laws, Stella Reinke, Ruby Teschendorf and LaVerne Ahrens.
