Adeline A. Oelfke, age 90 of Belle Plaine passed away on February 3, 2011. Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 AM on Monday, February 7, 2011 at Our Lady of the Prairie Catholic Church in Belle Plaine. Visitation will be on Sunday from 1:00 - 4:00 PM at the Kolden Funeral Home in Belle Plaine. Rosary will be at 12:30 pm and will be followed by the American Legion Auxiliary Prayers. Visitation will continue Monday morning from 9:30-10:30 at the church. Interment will be in the Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery. Adeline was born on September 16, 1920 to John and Elizabeth (Barten) Schommer on the family farm in Belle Plaine, MN. She graduated from Belle Plaine High School and worked on the family farm until she married. Adeline married Lawrence H. Oelfke on November 4, 1944 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Belle Plaine. She worked for Norwesco Plastics for 20 years until her retirement in 1982. She was a life time member at Our Lady of the Prairie Parish, she was a member of the American Legion auxiliary, enjoyed needlework, playing cards, puzzles, was an avid Twins fan, and enjoyed traveling. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Lawrence in 1991, sisters Mildred Schommer and Barbara Marie Mader. She is survived by her daughters, Shirley (Jim) Evans of Northfield, MN, Kathleen (Tom) Lindeen of Stillwater, MN, Sharon (Gordy) Hormann of Jackson, MN, Beverly Thorpe of Springfield, VT, Jackie Oelfke of Brainerd, MN; Grandchildren, Mark (Lisa) and Paul (Liz) Evans, Mike (Andrea) Lindeen and Jill (Jason) Duchinski, Britta and Rebecca Hormann and Easton Thorpe; 5 Great Grandchildren; Siblings, Genevieve and Joseph Schommer; many nieces and nephews.
