Alice M. Triplett

Alice May Triplett, age 89 of Belle Plaine, died on July 17, 2015 at Mayo Clinic Health System in New Prague. Funeral service will be at 11a.m. on Tuesday, July 21 at St. John Lutheran Church in Belle Plaine. Rev. Mark Johnson will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time at the church. Interment will be in Green Hill Cemetery in St. Peter, MN. Alice was born on October 3, 1925 in Belle Plaine to Ernest and Fernie (Paulmann) Schlingmann. She was baptized, confirmed and went to school in Belle Plaine. Alice was the first of her siblings to graduate from High School and she did in 1945, a promise to do so to her father. On June 24, 1961 Alice married Ray Triplett in St. Peter. She did factory work there until Ray and Alice moved to Belle Plaine in 1991. Ray died January 18, 1994. Alice was active in the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, the Belle Plaine Historical Society and St. John Lutheran Church. Her interests included quilting, needlework, baking and doing any kind of puzzles. She also collected angels. When her health declined she moved into the Lutheran Home in Belle Plaine in April 2015. Her cancer took its toll. Alice is survived by one brother, John Schlingmann of Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ray, eight sisters and one brother. Honorary casket bearers are her many nieces and nephews.
