Allan Sellnow

January 18, 1933 — April 25, 2014

Allan William Earl Sawdust Sellnow, age 81 of Blakeley, died at his home on April 25, 2014. Memorial Service will be held at 11a.m. on Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Belle Plaine, Rev. John Zeitler will officiate. Visitation will be from 4-8p.m. on Tuesday at the Kolden Funeral Home in Belle Plaine and continue one hour prior to the service at church on Wednesday. Interment will be in Ft. Snelling National Cemetery. Allan was born in Blakeley Township on January 18, 1933 to Clarence and Pearl (Sanken) Sellnow. On April 15, 1961 he married Leona Malz at Trinity Lutheran Church in Belle Plaine. Allan served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He was a milk hauler, then worked in heavy equipment as well as operated his own saw mill. Allan loved fishing, model airplanes, quilting, gardening and distributing the fruits of his labor to his friends in Blakeley. He was a member of the Belle Plaine VFW and American Legion. He is survived by his wife Leona, Daughters, Susan (Dale) Johnson of Chaska, Linda (Kenneth) Glisczinski of New Prague, Donna (Steven) Herrmann of Belle Plaine, Sandra (Brian) Schmitz of Belle Plaine. 9 Grandchildren, Nicole (Joshua), Scott (fiance Robin), Elizabeth, Sara, Christopher (Katie), Clinton, Holly, Cora and Emily. 3 Great Grandchildren, Willow, Carson and Owen. Brother Robert (Judy) Sellnow and other extended family.
