Allan G. Wilmes

Allan G. Wilmes, age 82, of Le Sueur, passed away unexpectedly on July 22, 2025. Services will be private with his family.

Born July 10, 1943, in Eagle Lake, MN, to Arthur and Verna (Fischer) Wilmes, Allan spent most of his life on the family farm in Sharon Township, where he proudly worked the land and cared for his beloved cattle for 50 years. A true cattleman at heart, Allan’s passion for farming was second only to the deep love he had for his family—whom he cherished, supported, and playfully teased every chance he got.  Allan also had a love for playing cards and fishing with his brothers, sisters and nephews.

Allan is survived by his children, Greg (Cheryl) Wilmes of Le Sueur, Vicky Kukacka of Le Sueur, Gary (Heather) Wilmes of Le Sueur, and Val (Dan) Wasinger of Winnebago, MN; grandchildren, Ryan, Courtney, McAlister, Kenzington, and Tyegan; siblings, Jean Doheny of Le Sueur, Marilyn Slama of Byron, MN, Mike (Kathy) Wilmes of Le Sueur, Vernie (Sue) Wilmes of Farmington, MN, and Arthur (Sharron) Wilmes of OK.

He is preceded in death by wife, Bonnie (2015); parents and siblings, Adelaide, JoAnne, Leon, Arlene, Stanley and David.
