Allen Merrill Willmsen

Allen Willmsen, age 92 of Arlington, passed away on February 2, 2026 at Ridgeview Hospital in Waconia, MN. Memorial Service will be held Saturday, February 7, 2026 at Peace Lutheran Church in Arlington, MN at 11:00 A.M. Visitation will be held from 9-11 A.M. at the church. Private Interment at a later date at Arlington Public Cemetery.

Allen was born on August 17, 1933 to Ella (Riedler) and Herbert Willmsen. He was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church in rural Arlington, and was a current member of the Arlington United Methodist Church. He married his high school sweetheart, Lois Geib, on September 5, 1953 and they were married for 67 years until Lois passed away in 2020.

After they married, Allen enlisted in the Army and he was stationed in Washington. Upon his honorable discharge in 1955, they returned to the family farm and Allen farmed until his retirement. They moved to town in 2005. Allen and Lois enjoyed many cruises and road trips throughout the states, and spent some of their retirement years wintering in Arizona.

He enjoyed playing Sheepshead and Bingo at The Harbor Assisted Living until his death. In the spring, summer and fall he enjoyed (almost) weekly rides to check out who was in the field, how the crops looked, and how the harvest was going. In his younger years, he enjoyed fishing and visits to the casino.

His survivors include his daughter, Vicki (Duane) Stock and son, Terry Willmsen; two grandchildren, Mike (Beth) Stock and Nikki Stock; three great-grandchildren, Ali (Jake) Wentzlaff, Lexy (Mitchell) Heibel, and Leyton Dose; one great-great-granddaughter, Maizie Wentzlaff; two sisters, Carol Goebel and Connie (Steve) Truttman; and nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Lois; his parents; his parents-in-law, Erwin, Sr. and Evelyn Geib; brother-in-law, Charles Goebel; and brother & sister-in-law, Erwin J. and Vonny Geib.
