Andrew M. Hayer

Andrew M Hayer 91, St. Peter, died Friday July 1, 2016, at Presbyterian Homes of Bloomington, MN. Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM, July 6, 2016, at Zion United Church of Christ, Le Sueur. Pastor Jean Sidner will be officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Greenhill Cemetery, St Peter. Arrangements are with the Kolden Funeral Home, Le Sueur. Andrew Milton was born November 28, 1924, to Andrew and Florence (Nygard) Hayer in St. Peter. Andrew was baptized on February 15, 1925, at the Evangelical Lutheran Church, Nicollet County. Andrew was confirmed April 2, 1939, at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church, St. Peter. He grew up and attended country school near the family farm and graduated from St. Peter High School. Andrew married Doris Deno on April 4, 1946, at Zion Church soon after he was drafted into the United States Army serving 11 months at Kobe Base, Japan. Andrew and Doris enjoyed farming on the family farm in Lake Prairie Township, raising cash crops, milking cows and raising hogs. Andrew served on many committees in his church and community. Andrew is survived by a son Gary (Jean) of St. Peter, daughters Nancy (Duane) Duehn of Maple Grove and Susan (Kevin) Wagner of Emmons, grandchildren Heath, Heidi, Michael, Lisa, Andrea and Daniel. Along with 12 great grandchildren and a sister Marion Veith. He was preceded in death by his wife Doris on April 8, 2015 and sister Violet Vogt.
