Andrew Marron

November 30, 1993 — November 30, 2018

Andrew William Marron, age 25 (b.05/26/94), passed away on July 8, 2019, of an accidental overdose after a years-long battle with addiction.  We, his family, would not want him to be defined by his addiction, however, for he was much more than that.  For those fortunate to know and see Andrew through childhood and during sober periods, including even within the last year, they experienced a witty, fun, loving soul with a cheesy grin, who had such promise.  He loved his family and friends deeply, entertaining all with his sense of humor and antics. In the early years, he excelled in reading, writing, and math; enjoyed playing hockey, soccer, baseball and video games; and embraced his summer weekends at the cabin. He graduated from Osseo Senior High in 2012.

In early high school, Andrew experimented with pain pills, and so began a battle with opioids which would eventually take his life. We share this message with you in hopes of preventing this from happening to others. Throughout his life, Andrew pursued joy and love, and he returned it. He was fiercely supportive and protective of his younger sister Nadia. He had dreams and hopes of attending college, pursuing a job, and meeting the girl of his dreams.  Recently, he was having some success winning his addiction battle, living in a residential treatment program in Los Angeles where he had made progress and developed friendships.  Sadly, addiction does not discriminate- each battle is harder to win, more fatal to lose. Our hearts are broken, for this is not what he intended.  We will love him always.

Andrew is survived by his parents, Ray and Margot, and sister Nadia; his aunts and uncles, Kathleen Marron & Tom Conlin, Tom & Kate Marron, and Lisa Storti; and many cousins and friends.  He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Carol & Dick Marron; Joyce & John Gilbertson; and Franklin Storti. A memorial service will be held at 11 am on Friday July 19, 2019, at Lord of Life Lutheran Church, 7401 County Road 101, Maple Grove, MN 55311.  Lunch will be served after the service. Donations in Andrew’s name can be sent to Chabad Treatment Center, www.chabadrehab.com .
