Anita C Tiegs

Anita Cordelia Eleanor Tiegs, age 88 of Henderson, Minnesota died on Monday, November 29, 2021 at the Ridgeview Arlington Hospital.  Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at Noon at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Henderson.  Rev. Debra Meyer will officiate.  Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of the services at the church.  Masks will be required.  A private family lunch will be served.   www.koldenfuneralhome.com

Anita was born on December 19, 1932 in Blakeley Township to Melvin and Lydia (Denzer) Stier.  Anita was baptized and confirmed at Redeemer Lutheran Church in the German Settlement.  She attended Joel country school in Blakeley Township.  On March 28, 1951 she married Norris Tiegs at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Henderson.  They farmed in Tyrone Township, LeSueur County and later in Kelso Township, Sibley County.  Anita lived in Belle Plaine for a time and later in Henderson, Minnesota.  She worked for Norwesco Plastic plant and Rosemount Industries. She enjoyed baking, vegetable and flower gardening, canning, sewing, and quilting, especially for family.  She also enjoyed watching birds and playing cards with Lyla Smith.  Faith was very important to her and she had been on the church council at both St. John’s Lutheran in Belle Plaine and St. Paul’s UCC in Henderson. Anita was generous with her love, time and talents, and loved by many.

Survivors include her children, Rosalyn (Stan) Karg of Glencoe, Carolyn (Steve) Blake of Shakopee, Joyce (Scott) Brown of Rockford, Dale (Kris) Tiegs of Henderson, Cheryl (Special friend, Brad Dullum) Tiegs of Zimmerman, Jim (Fran) Tiegs of Henderson, Lisa (Special friend, Mark Orth) Jahn of Shakopee and Becky (Shawn) Hornaman of LeSueur.

Daughter-in-law,  Ann Tiegs of Moorhead.  21 Grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson.

Anita was preceded in death by her former husband, Norris,  son, Lyle, son-in-law, Kevin Jahn, sisters, Arlene Pfarr and Aldena Weyl and brother, Ivan Stier
