Annette M. Beckel

Annette M. Beckel age 90 of St. Peter, formerly of Le Sueur, died at the St. Benedictine Living Court on Friday, September 9, 2016. Funeral service will be held on Monday, September 19, at 11:00 a.m. at Zion United Church of Christ in Le Sueur. Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 18, 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Kolden Funeral Home in Le Sueur, MN. Visitation will continue on Monday morning one hour prior to service at the church. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery in Le Sueur, MN. Pastor Kent Meyer will officiate the services. Annette was born on November 12, 1925 near Le Sueur to Edwin and Matilda (Block) Lammers. She grew up in Le Sueur and graduated from Le Sueur High School in 1943. She attended a cosmetology/beauty school in Mankato after high school and worked as a hairdresser for a short time. She married C.T. "Sonny" Beckel on October 8, 1946 at St. Anne's Church in Le Sueur. She was a homemaker for many years and after her kids were older, she worked at Bix Furniture Restoration for several years. Annette was active in her church circle, Garden Club & Birthday Club. She was a grace-filled and gracious woman. In her retirement, after moving to Le Sueur, she and Sonny enjoyed golfing and traveling to Texas in the winter. She also enjoyed arts and crafts, card making, music, flower gardening and playing cards. Above all, she loved her family and friends welcoming them into her home for food and laughter. Thank you to the Benedictine Senior Living Community staff and Hospice for their special care and attentiveness of our wife and mother during these final weeks. Annette is survived by her husband of 70 years, C.T. "Sonny" Beckel of St. Peter; Children; Greg (Beth) Beckel of Marston Mills, Mass; Monica Peterson and her special friend Hal Spann of Sauk Rapids, MN; Cletus (Sharyn) Beckel of Pittsgrove, NJ; Roseann (Pat) Boran of Chanhassen, MN and Vince (Kari) Beckel of Chaska, MN. 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Brother, Mark (Maggie) Lammers of Richfield, MN and sister, Judy (Glen) Loewe of Henderson, MN. She is preceded in death by her parents, infant daughter, Maria and brother, Roger Lammers.
