Arlene Evelyn Hamblin, age 80 of Arlington, died on Friday, June 28, 2024 at her home. Memorial service will be on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, 3:00 p.m. at Peace Lutheran Church in Arlington, MN. Burial will be at a later time. Visitation will be at the church one hour prior to the services. Lunch to follow the memorial service at church.
Arlene was born on April 2, 1944 in Glencoe, MN to Adolph and Larena (Brelje) Segler and grew up in the Norwood and Hamburg area. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul’s Evangelical Reformed Church in Hamburg, MN. She married Darrell Hamblin in June of 1962, the couple later divorced. She worked as a child daycare provider until her kids were in school. She then worked at Fingerhut, (Wimans) in Gaylord, followed by The Kaiserhoff in New Ulm as a cook. She also worked as a cook at the nursing home in Gaylord and retired from Palm Beach Canopy Manufacturing in New Ulm. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, reading and time with family and friends.
She is survived by her daughters; Robin Hamblin of Arlington, MN; Dawn (Allen) Schwirtz of Arlington, MN and Jean (Todd “Huddy”) Hudson of St. James, MN. Grandchildren; John Caddell and Talia Gilster, Brittanie Hamblin, Josh Jenneke, Tisha (Mike) Stien, Sonya Helms, Derek Schwirtz, Stephanie (Nick) Francis, Jonny Wiederhoeft and Shannon Rathman, Chealsea (Jacob) Mortwedt, Shelby Wiederhoeft and Kindra Edberg, Jordan Wiederhoeft and Jared Finnegan. Great-grandchildren; Michaela Caddell, Draco Schlueter, and Sully Ruiz, Skyler Wollschlager, Tayler Hamblin, Scout Farniok, Sammy Jr., Spencer and Skylar Helms, Michael, Maddilyn and Lincoln Stien, Camden, Harper and Sawyer Francis, Tadum Knickrehm, Reaghan and Quentin Wiederhoeft, Khaydin, James and Mathew Mortwedt. Siblings; Carl (Norma) Segler of Henderson, MN, Anita “Tootie” Segler of Mankato, MN and. Sister-in-law, Joyce Segler of St. Peter, MN and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Half-sister, Marlene Johnson brother Adolph “Augie” Segler Jr. and great-granddaughter, Stella Caddell.
