Arline E. Laabs, age 85 of Le Sueur formerly of Henderson, died Thursday, March 29, 2012 at Minnesota Valley Health Center in Le Sueur. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 2, 2012 at Zion U.C.C. in Le Sueur. Rev. Beth Benson will officiate the service. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. on Monday at church. Interment will be in Mound Cemetery in Le Sueur. Arline was born on May 1, 1926 to Almert and Emma (Schroeder) Ruehling in New Prague, Mn. She grew up in New Prague and graduated from New Prague High School. She then attended school for nursing at Glenwood Hills Hospital in Golden Valley. From there she worked as a nurse in Minnesota all the way to California. She married Herman F. Laabs on May 20, 1956 at Lanesburg Lutheran Church in Lanesburg Township. For the majority of her life she was a homemaker raising her seven children on the family farm. She enjoyed traveling, gardening, hunting, fishing, boating and being outdoors in general. She also volunteered by driving others to and from appointments and she had delivered papers with her husband. Arline is survived by her 4 sons: Jim Eversole of Champlin, Joel (Linda) Laabs of Arlington, JR (Connie Renae) Laabs of Colorado Springs, CO and Jon (Carrie) Laabs of Le Sueur; 3 daughters, Jennifer (Dave Leonard) Morgan of Le Sueur, Joyce (Greg) Thomas of Henderson and Jeanne (Daniel) Easterlund of Tulsa, OK; Grandchildren, Jed (Amy), Jaikob and Gavin Laabs, Heath (Shawna) and Heather Morgan, Cole Leonard, Brandy (Patrick) Galloway, Jason (Erin), Jillian, Dustin and D.Jordan Easterlund, Amanda and Jaylen Laabs, and Breanna, Brooklyn and Alex Laabs; step-grandchildren, Chris Kuehlman, Chad and Calla Johnson, Jessica, David and Michael Thomas; 5 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Arline is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Herman F. Laabs in 2003; brother, David Ruehling; and son-in-law, Bill Edgell.
