Arthur “Arty” Matthew Brown, age 75 of Le Sueur, died on Sunday morning, April 26, 2026 at Mayo Health Systems in Mankato, MN. The family are planning a gathering for a later date.

Arty was born on September 1, 1950 in Ayer, Massachusetts to Arthur and Eileen (Ordway) Brown of Pepperell, MA. He graduated in 1968 from North Middlesex Regional High School in Townsend, MA, and went on to enlist in the United States Army the same year. After basic training, he served stateside at Fort Irwin, CA, for the duration of his enlistment. He returned to Pepperell and worked construction and masonry with his brother-in-law, Bill McMahon, for many years.

He left for Minnesota in 1990 with his brother, Jim, to work a project with SMA Elevators. It was then he met the love of his life, Patricia Moriarty, and remained in Minnesota. He married Patricia on November 29, 1991 in Le Sueur, MN.

Arty worked construction in Minnesota, and also worked at the Lumber Yard in Le Sueur, before taking a job with Silgan Container in Shakopee, MN for 12 years. After retirement, Arty did part time work as the self-proclaimed Heads Ground Keeper at the Le Sueur County Club.

He was known for his love of trains, road trips following back roads, and sitting around the fire with friends and cold beer. His family loved his grilled chicken and baked ham. He was a Boston Red Sox fan to the end, along with many other Boston sports teams. Arty is survived by his wife, Pat Brown; siblings, Marilyn McMahon of Pepperell, MA, Kevin Brown of Pepperell, MA, Mary Sheila (Clint) Licqurish of Nashua, NH, and James (Donna) Brown of Le Sueur, MN. He leaves many in-laws, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents.
