Arthur Hildebrandt

Art Hildebrandt, age 96 of Arlington died Monday, March 28, 2011 at the Arlington Good Samaritan Center. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Peace Lutheran Church in Arlington. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service time at the church. Interment will be in the Arlington Public Cemetery. Kolden Funeral Home of Arlington is handling the arrangements. Arthur Hans Hildebrandt was born on September 25, 1914 in Alstadt, Germany to Friedrich and Louisa (Summerseldt) Hildebrandt. His occupations included road construction, farming, and carpentry. Art married Evelyn E. Hanson on August 2, 1934 at Artichoke Lake, Mn. He served his country briefly at the close of WWII. Art loved playing cards and enjoyed animals and was very much of a "people person". He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, sons; Rodney and Donald Hildebrandt, grandson; Perry Hildebrandt, two great grandchildren; Jeffrey and Samantha, five brothers and two sisters. Art is survived by a daughter; Audrey Serbus of Arlington, daughter-in-law; Mary Lou Hildebrandt of Redwood Falls, 15 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, 19 great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Serving as casket bearers for the funeral are grandsons; Rodney, Douglas, James, Daniel, and Chad Hildebrandt, Craig, Tim, and Dale Serbus.
