Arthur C. Huber, age 91 of Belle Plaine, died on December 1, 2013 at Mayo Clinic Health System in New Prague. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11a.m. on Wednesday, December 4, at Our Lady of the Prairie Catholic Church in Belle Plaine. Fr. Michael Kaluza will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to Mass at church. Interment will be in Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery in Belle Plaine. Art was born in Le Sueur on August 14, 1922 to Frank and Margaret (Luskey) Huber. They moved to Belle Plaine when Art was 4. He grew up in Belle Plaine, attending Saints Peter & Paul Catholic School and graduating from Belle Plaine High School. After graduation, he enlisted in the Navy and went to Great Lakes Boot Camp. He was then moved to Annapolis, MD where he was transferred into the Marine Corps. He was then sent to Camp LaJune and Camp Pendleton before shipping out to Japan. Art served during WWII in Okinawa from 1943-1945. On December 27, 1945 he married Eunice "Pat" Paulson at St. Stephen's Catholic Church in Minneapolis. They lived in Courtland for a year before moving to Belle Plaine. He worked for his family Red Owl grocery store for several years and also at Minnesota Valley for 11 years. The majority of his working carreer was spent running the boiler at Green Giant in Le Sueur until his retirement at age 62. Art loved raising canaries, bowling, playing cards and gardening. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Pat in 2011, brother Mark and granddaughter, Jennifer. Art is survived by his children, Sister Judith Huber of St. Joseph, Jim (Terri) Huber of Brownton, Steve Huber of Belle Plaine, Pat (Dar) Arndt of Madelia, Rick Huber of Lakeville, Art (Shelly) Huber of Le Center, Cheryl (Steve) Liotta of Lakewood, WA, Dave (Connie) Huber of Le Sueur, 13 Grandchildren 15 Great Grandchildren, Brothers, Fran Huber of Belle Plaine, Jim Huber of Canby, John Huber of Wilmar, Sister, Mary Jaros of East China, MI.
