Audrey was born on August 18, 1931, in Faribault, Minnesota, to Fred and Rose (Hrachovina) Luedke, where she was 9th of 10 children. She grew up in Faribault, attending local public schools and graduating with the Faribault Class of 1950. After high school, she continued her education through nurses training at St. Lucas Deaconess School of Nursing in Faribault, becoming an RN and began a lifelong dedication to caring for others.
In 1954, Audrey married James Tohal, and although they later went their separate ways, the years they shared remained an important part of her story. In 1957, they made Le Sueur their home and Audrey began a long and meaningful career as a nurse at Le Sueur Memorial Hospital, where she served with compassion until her retirement at age 65.
Audrey lived a life filled with quiet generosity and involvement in her community. She served on the various church committees, volunteered at the Clothes Closet, and spent time as a volunteer elementary school nurse; roles that allowed her kindness to touch many lives.
Outside of her work and volunteering, Audrey was an excellent bowler, member of a ladies card club, and a superb knitter whose creations were treasured by many.
Audrey will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know her.
