Barbara was born on February 10, 1948, to Edward and Hildegard (Wagener) Meyers in Arlington, MN.  She grew up in Arlington and was baptized, (2/22/1948) and confirmed, (6/14/1960) at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Arlington, MN.  She later graduated from Arlington High School in 1966.  She received her technical degree from Mankato Beauty School in 1967 and came back to Arlington to practice her long career in hairdressing.  Barb loved cutting hair in the basement of her home. She is well known by many as “The lady who cut my hair when I was growing up.”  She absolutely loved doing her job.  She was willing to help those who were shut-in and worked for years at the Arlington Nursing Home and Assisted Living. Her love for baseball was amazing! She knew the names of every MN Twins player past and present.  We all knew not to call or stop to visit if there was a MN Twins game on TV.  She didn’t have time to talk.  And being able to attend one home game a year with family was a must! Barb was a true baseball fan and was very active on the Arlington A’s Baseball Board.  She had an outgoing personality and was always willing to lend a helping hand. She raved about the people she met and the friendships that she made. Barb was also very active with the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Arlington. Not only was she strong in her faith, but she volunteered many hours with the Ladies CCW, helping with the Youth Missionary events, assisting with Prayer Olympics and being there to help whenever or wherever she was needed. She was always there to support athletic events, dance recitals, choir concerts, awards ceremonies and so much more! She will always be remembered as Aunt Barbie by more than just her family. She was a true fan of many! Barb chose the following Pallbearers to lead her home to rest: Brian Walters, Adam Walters, Brent Walters, Nate Pigman, Bob Thomes and Gary Kurtzweg Honorary Pallbearers:  The Arlington A’s

She is survived by her sister, Ruth Hilgers of Victoria, MN; Nieces, Beth (Bob) Walters of Gaylord, MN, Denise (Keith) Stewart of Chaska, MN, Stacie (Cory) Swenson of Gaylord, MN, Rita (Joe) Belka of Rogers, MN, Nancy (Mike) Boyle of Chaska, MN, and Lisa (Brandon) Brueggemeier of Waconia, MN.  Great-nieces and Great-nephews; Brian (Casey) Walters, Nicole (Nate) Pigman Adam (Haley) Walters, Justin (Shelby) Stewart, Brent Walters, Jordan Belka, Lindsey Stewart,  Jack Boyle, Kyle Stewart, Peyton Belka, Jameson Boyle, Colby Brueggemeier, Kendall Brueggemeier and Jaylyn Boyle.
