Barbara Jean Plieseis

Barbara “Barb” Jean Plieseis, age 77, of Henderson passed away on Saturday, July 27, 2024 at Ridgeview Hospital in Waconia, MN. Funeral Service will be Thursday, August 1, 2024 at Centennial Lutheran Church in Henderson, MN starting at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be that morning at the church from 9-11 a.m. A luncheon will immediately follow the service in the church social hall. A private interment will be held in Brown Cemetery in Henderson, MN at a later date.

Barb was born on June 16, 1947 in Gaylord, MN to Lawrence and Silbena “Beanie” (Winters) Wacker. She grew up in Henderson and graduated Henderson High School in 1965. Following graduation, she attended Mankato Vocational College. She married Robert “Bob” Plieseis on August 5, 1967 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Arlington Township. Together they were blessed with two children, Jean and Paul, and 57 years of marriage. After raising her children, she worked for Green Giant and many various jobs throughout the years, ending with working 20 years with the Le Sueur-Henderson school district.

She loved birds and doing her bird counts, flowers, gardening and spending time with her beloved dog, Missy.

Barb is survived by her husband, Robert; children, Paul Plieseis of Chaska, MN, and Jean (Mark) Foley of Norwood Young America, MN; sister, Connie Buck of Henderson, MN; sisters-in-law, Bonnie (Phil) Bailey, of Paynesville, MN and Janet (Dick) Benson of Stacy, MN; brother-in-law, Conley Mediger of Le Sueur, MN; aunt, Lorraine (George) Uecker of Gaylord, MN; along with many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents and many aunts and uncles.

She will be missed by many, God bless her soul.
