Bernette H. Uecker

Bernette H. Uecker, age 94 of Green Isle passed away Saturday, August 28,2021 at the Ridgeview Sibley Medical Center in Arlington. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 1st at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Green Isle. Visitation will be 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Tuesday and one hour prior to service time Wednesday all at the church. Interment will be in the church cemetery.

Bernette was born on December 8,1926 in Green Isle to Albert and Emma (Harjes) Voight. She attended and graduated from Glencoe High School. On May 21, 1950 she married Wallace “Wally” Uecker at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Green Isle. Bernette served as a cook at the Green Isle Elementary School from 1972 until 1995. She also was a Sunday School teacher for fifteen years. Bernette was a member of the Green Isle American Legion Auxiliary. Bernette and  Wally loved to fish together, play cards and go dancing. Bernette was an avid bowler for sixty years. In her later years she took life easier and loved taking the bus to the Casino.

Bernette is survived by her children; Howard Uecker and fiancé Patti of Gaylord, Sharon Martins of Waconia, and John Uecker and fiancé Tracey of Waconia, grandchildren; Melissa (Chet), Matt (sp. friend Darcy), Jeremy (Angel), Bailee (sp. friend Justice) and Mitchell (Hannah), great grandchildren; Sidney, Rylan, Maxton, Charlie, Austin, Carson, Lincoln, Miles, Jaylen and Vivianna, sister; Barb (Dick) Luepke,  brother-in-law & sisters-in-law; Milo & Jackie Uecker and Ruth Uecker and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Bernette is preceded in death by her husband Wally, stillborn infant son, son-in-law Bob Martins, siblings; Marion (Ervin) Schuft, Ronald (Marlane) Voight, Harlan (Lillie Ann) Voight, brothers-and sisters-in-law; Orville (Rubie) Uecker, Milton Uecker, Rueben (Lydia) Uecker, LeRoy (Carol) Uecker and Hank (Corrine) Uecker.
