Bernice Kroells, age 85, of Arlington, died Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at her home, surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be 3:00 P.M. Sunday, June 10, 2012, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Arlington, Pastor Bruce Hanneman officiating. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service time at the church. Interment will be at Arlington Public Cemetery. Kolden Funeral Home of Arlington is handling the arrangements. Bernice was born on November 5, 1926, in New Auburn Township to Herman and Eda (Pieschke) Dahlke. She was baptized on January 2, 1927, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in New Auburn, and confirmed at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Arlington on April 28, 1940. In 1944 Bernice graduated from Arlington High School. After her graduation she worked at Lehmberg Bakery in Arlington until her marriage. On December 3, 1948, Bernice was united in marriage to Raymond Kroells at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Arlington, by Rev. John Bradtke. After her marriage she was a farmwife and homemaker, and also worked seasonally at Big Stone Canning Company in Arlington. Bernice was a long time member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, a dedicated wife and mother, a fantastic cook and caring friend. She loved flowers, dancing and socializing, and loved the great relationship she had with her grandchildren. Bernice is survived by her children, Karen (Peter) Archer of Arlington, Keith (Peggy) Kroells of Arlington, grandchildren, Emily (Trevor) Slone, Angela Archer, Zachary, Marisa and Seth Kroells, step-great-grandson Chandler Slone, her sister Norma Albrecht of Brownton, and many nieces and nephews. Bernice was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Raymond in 2001, siblings Ernst Dahlke, Lulu Lucas, Martha Muelling, Lorraine Kottke, Gladys Plieseis, Cora Wolter and five nephews. Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers.
