Bernice E. Soeffker, age 93 of Arlington, died on Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at Golden Hearts Inc. in Arlington. Funeral Service will be 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, February, 11, 2012 at Peace Lutheran Church in Arlington. Visitation will be 2 hours prior to the service at church on Saturday. Rev Kurt Lehmkuhl will officiate. Interment will be in the Arlington Public Cemetery. Bernice was born on May 5, 1918 to Emil and Alma (Thoele) Rucks in Green Isle Twp. She grew up in Green Isle Twp in Sibley County and attended Green Isle Township Schools. She was baptized by Karl Reuter at Zion Lutheran Church in Green Isle Twp. She was confirmed by Pastor Rottmann at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Green Isle and also married there to Milo Soeffker on November 14, 1937. They resided in Arlington all of their lives. Bernice and Milo were blessed with 6 children. She enjoyed working with flowers, sewing, crafts and playing cards. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Milo on January 30, 1969; son Donovan on July 13, 1968, son-in-law Waldo Laabs; siblings, Mildred (Arnold) Ristau, Oliver (Elizabeth) Rucks, Glendora Puckett, Bernard Rucks, and Orlin Kistner; In-laws, Ralph (Ella) Soeffker, Willard Schultz, Vernon (Norma) Dircks, Evelyn (Alford) Voight and Elvira (Alfred) Luepke. She is survived by her children, Arvid (Shirley) Soeffker of Arlington, MN Sandy (Ray) Berger of Waskish, MN, Charles (Jonell) Soeffker of Henderson, MN, Terry (Irene) Soeffker of Buffalo, MN Renee (Wade) Stien of Sauk Centre, MN and daughter -in- law, Ramona (Gerald) Pauly of Jordan; 19 Grandchildren; 27 Great Grandchildren; sisters, Oradel Kistner of St Peter and Gladys Citrowski of Cypress, CA; sisters-in-law, Lorraine Rucks of Arlington and Merva Schultz of Waconia; brother-in-law Gilbert (Eldonna) Soeffker of Glencoe; and many nieces and nephews.
