Betty J. Anderson

Betty Jane Anderson, age 88 of Gaylord and formerly of LeSueur, died on Sunday, January 17, 2016 at the Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia. She was born in Tamarack, Minnesota on January 27, 1927 to Albert and Gina (Brekke) Anderson. Betty attended country school in Aitkin County and later married Harold Anderson on June 19, 1948 in Aitkin. They lived at Tamarack, Moose Lake and Norwood, Minnesota. Mr. Anderson died on October 6, 1985 and Betty moved to LeSueur, Minnesota. She was a homemaker and enjoyed her garden, canning, birdwatching, reading, collecting horse figurines, country music and living in the country. She is survived by her children, Dexter (Sandy) Anderson of Mahtowa, MN, Dennis Anderson of Appleton, MN, Doug (Diane) Anderson of Dayton, MN, Diane (Earl) Thaemert of Norwood-Young America, MN, Dean (Jill) Anderson of LeSueur, Kirt Anderson of Gaylord, MN, Neal (Tracy) Anderson of Glencoe and Jane Anderson of St. Cloud, 16 Grandchildren and 17 Great-Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, siblings and a grandson, Michael. Memorial Services will be held on Friday, January 22, 2016 at 2 p.m. at the Presbyterian Church in LeSueur. Rev. Sara Hein will officiate. Interment, at a later date, will be in the Ft. Snelling National Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the church on Friday. Kolden Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
