Betty Jean Kosier

Betty J. Kosier, age 88 of Henderson, died Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at Leisure Cottage in Le Sueur. Memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 25, 2010 at St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Henderson. Rev. Brigit Stevens will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time at the church. Interment will be in Jacksonville, Florida at a later date. Betty was born on July 1, 1922 to Clinton and Gladys (McNair) Mattice in Detroit, Michigan. She received her Master's degree in education from Wayne State University. She worked most of her life as a 1st Grade Teacher in Detroit and Dearborn Heights, MI. She married T. David Kosier on November 25, 1947 in Detroit, Michigan. After her and her husband both retired they traveled all over. They bought a sailboat and enjoyed sailing in the Caribbean. She was also a member of the Tourist Club in Henderson. Betty is survived by her children, Cherie (Sven) Mattson of Henderson, Tom (Mary) Kosier of Jupiter, FL, Mark (Tracy) Kosier of Jacksonville, FL and Peggy (John) Corcoran of Traverse City, MI; 12 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents and husband, T. David Kosier. In lieu of flowers the family would prefer memorials to be sent to ISJ Hospice in Mankato, MN. Betty's family would like to thank everyone at Leisure Cottage for the loving care they provided for their mother and also to ISJ Hospice team for the exceptional care and support during their mother's last days.
