Beverly Lee Bertrang

Beverly L. Bertrang, age 81 formerly of Henderson, died on Monday, June 5, 2023 at the Ridgeview Medical Center in Le Sueur.  Memorial Mass will be on Saturday, June 10, 2023, 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Henderson, MN.  Visitation will be Friday, June 9, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Kolden Funeral Home in Le Sueur, MN.  Visitation will continue Saturday morning at the Church Social Hall from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. we will then process to the church for the 10:30 a.m. Mass.  Burial at St. Joseph’s Cemetery at a later date.  Lunch to follow Mass in the Church Social Hall.

Born on May 13, 1942 to Marcella (Rollings)and Ernest Hobson at Ft. Snelling, Minnesota.  She was raised in Cleveland, Minnesota and graduated from Cleveland High School in 1960.  She spent her childhood helping the family business “Hobson’s Resort” on West Lake Jefferson, participating in 4H,  school plays and glee club. She worked at Green Giant in Le Sueur when she met her future husband, Joseph Bertrang.  Bev and Joe were blessed with seven children.  Bev managed the Taco John’s in St. Peter and later could be found scooping ice cream and gossip at the Henderson Drug Store.  Bev was a great cook, known for her bars and canned goods.  She loved her flowers, spending time visiting with her friends, playing cards with friends, attending her grandchildren’s activities and reading books.

Bev is survived by her five children: Roxanne (Rodney) Nelson, Mike (Heidi), Jeffrey (Wendy), Sherry (Jessie) Vlasak, Matt (Jodi) and her 14 grandchildren: Phillip, Daija, Addie, Elijah, Anna, Zachary, Caleb, Emily, Jacob, Laura, Tyler, Alison, Ryan, Leah and her sisters, Shirley Duncanson and Teri Horn, and her brothers, Richard (Monika) Hobson and Tom (Tammy) Hobson, and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, in-laws, husband Joe, daughters Michelle and Deborah (special friend Dan), nephew Tim Hobson and great-niece Everly Hewitt.
