Bob Palmer, age 83 of Belle Plaine, passed away peacefully on January 28. 2024.  Memorial service will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 10, 2024, at St. John Lutheran Church in Belle Plaine. Rev. Diana Hunstad will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at church on Saturday morning. Lunch will immediately follow the service in the church social hall. Interment will be at a later date in Oakwood Cemetery.

Robert Jennings Palmer was born in Minneapolis on March 25, 1940, to Vern and Helen (Johnson) Palmer. He grew up in Edina and graduated from Edina High School. He enlisted in the Marines in 1958 and served seven years reserve.  On May 12,1962 he married Janice Pohlman at Delafield Lutheran Church, Wilder, MN. They lived in Belle Plaine where they raised their three children. Bob co-owned and operated Diemold Tool in Shakopee for many years. Bob was always the first one to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Bob is preceded in death by his parents and sister Mary (Bob) Bennett.

He is survived by his wife, Jan, children, Carrie (Bruce) Fleming of Hamilton, Montana, Todd (Amy Borchert) Palmer of Morristown, and Holly (Mark) Hammerschmidt of Belle Plaine. Grandchildren, Crockett, Morgan & Regan Fleming, Jake Borchert, Britta & Kareen Hammerschmidt, Kyra & Lawson Dohm, brother Gil (Sandy) Palmer of Nevis, many nieces, and nephews.
