Carl William Ruff

Carl W. Ruff, age 63 of Henderson, died Monday, May 28, 2012 at the Minnesota Valley Health Center in Le Sueur. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 1, 2012 at the Kolden Funeral Home in Henderson. Rev. William Postel will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 31 at the Kolden Funeral Home in Henderson and one hour prior to service time on Friday at the funeral home. Interment will be in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery in Arlington Township. Carl was born on August 2, 1948 at the U of M Hospital in Minneapolis to Henry and Gladys (Ostermann) Ruff. He grew up in the Henderson area and attended Henderson schools. He married Karen Munson on September 9, 1972 at St. John's Lutheran Church, and they later divorced. He farmed in Henderson Township until he had a heart attack in 1992. He then worked at Michael's Foods. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, tending to the farm alongside his brother Henry Jr. for many years and spending time with family and friends. Carl is survived by his children, Angie (Jason) Black of North Mankato, Eric (Jennifer) Ruff of New Ulm and Derick (girlfriend, Michelle Thomes) Ruff of Henderson; 2 grandchildren, Aaron and Mitchell Black; Life long partner, Donna Glass of Le Sueur; siblings, Henry Jr. Ruff of Henderson, Evelyn (Bill) Aul of Bloomington, Harvey (Sue) Ruff of Richmond, Alex (Joanie) Ruff of Le Center and Paul (Norma) Ruff of Albert Lea; and sister-in-law, Janet Ruff of Le Center. He is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, George Ruff, Walter Ruff, Verna Drescher and Selma Ruff.
