Carol Irene King

King, Carol Irene, Age 81, of LeSueur, MN, passed away peacefully at the U of MN Hospital on July 12, 2015. Visitation 4-8PM Thursday, July 16th at Kolden Funeral home, 529 Turril Street, LeSueur, and one hour prior to the funeral Service at LeSueur United Methodist church, 730 S 6th Street, LeSueur, MN at 11:00 AM Friday July 17th, 2015. Interment at Mound Cemetery, LeSueur, MN. Carol was born on May 9th, 1934 in Shawano, WI to Dan and Irene Wanner nee Sachow. As a young girl Carol attended several different schools in North Dakota due to her father's occupation. She received her Bachelor's degree from Jamestown College, ND with a degree in Elementary Education and received her Master's Degree in Education from the University of Northern Colorado. Carol's passion was working with children. She devoted her life to teaching and mentoring. She taught second grade in Wyoming, Alaska, South Dakota, North Dakota, LeSueur, Mn and retired from teaching in 1991 after 35 years. Carol married Ralph King on July 21, 1979 in Park River, ND and enjoyed almost 36 years of tranquil farm life and gardening. Carol joined the United Methodist church of LeSueur and was a very active member and volunteer; singing in the choir, teaching Sunday and Vacation Bible school, and serving as the church librarian for many years. In her spare time Carol enjoyed leading several Bible study groups and solving Suduko puzzles. Carol was a very kind, selfless, thoughtful and caring person with a wonderful sense of humor and an extremely strong faith in the Lord. She was a missionary dedicated to improving the lives of others. She was blessed with so many wonderful and caring people in her life. Carol will be missed deeply by all who knew her. Carol is preceded in death by her parents, Dan and Irene, and her nephew Danny. She is survived by her loving husband Ralph; sisters, Mary (Al) Whitmer of Hettinger, ND and Marjorie (Jim) Sire of Downers Grove, IL; sisters-in-law, Mary Louise Manley and Runette Peterson of Minneapolis and many nieces and nephews.
