Carol Jannette Klein

Carol Klein, age 68 of Belle Plaine, passed away on December 12, 2022, at Mayo Clinic Methodist Hospital in Rochester surrounded by family.  Memorial Mass will be at 10:30a.m. on January 6th at Our Lady of the Prairie Catholic Church in Belle Plaine.  Fr. Chris Shofner will officiate.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the Mass at the church.

Carol Jannette Peiler was born on January 29, 1954, in Rugby, North Dakota to George and Selma (Straabe) Peiler.  She grew up in Leeds, ND and graduated from Leeds High School.  On July 28, 1972, she married Jeff Klein at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Leeds. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary together this summer.   Jeff and Carol lived with their three children in Leeds for many years before moving to Belle Plaine in 1989.  Carol worked for many years at NuStar Inc. in Shakopee and continued to work while fighting cancer.  She was hard working, very artistic and enjoyed sewing, quilting and baking.  She loved her grandchildren immensely and treasured spending time with them; making it a priority to attend any of their events.

Carol is preceded in death by her parents, George and Selma (Straabe) Peiler; sister, Thelma Neis; mother-in-law, Helen Klein; father-in-law, Leo Klein.

She is survived by her husband, Jeff; Children, Alexia (Matt) Kuester of Chaska, Ryan (Dana) Klein of New Prague, and Holly (Tom) Hartshorn of New Prague; Grandchildren, Jadyn, Avery and Kyla Klein, Addison and Alexis Hartshorn and Marley, William and Hudson Kuester; Sisters Shirley (Dennis) Johnson, Laurie (Gail) College. Many extended family members, nieces, nephews, and countless friends.
