Catherine Joan Trangsrud

Catherine Trangsrud, age 74 of Belle Plaine, passed away on August 28, 2018. Memorial service will be at 11a.m. on Friday, August 31, 2018 at St. John Lutheran Church in Belle Plaine. Rev. Sarah Timian will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday morning. Interment will be at a later date in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in De Lamere, ND. Catherine was born in Tracy, Minnesota on October 13, 1943 to Richard and Camilla (Donohue) Stillings. She married Dennis Trangsrud on November 19, 1960 in Guthrie, MN. Cathy and Denny were longtime residents of Mounds View and in 1990 while living in Burnsville, Dennis passed away. From 1992 - 2005 Cathy had dual homes, one in Tucson, Arizona and the other in Battle Lake. In 2005 Catherine moved to Belle Plaine. Catherine was a homemaker, an administrative assistant and loved spending time with family. She loved volunteering at church, gardening and crafts, she was an avid reader and a passionate volunteer for SVABW. Cathy co-owned Jordan Junker and enjoyed being known as "Momma Junker". She is survived by her daughters, Laura (Al) Schmidt and Heidi Dye; grandchildren, Johan (Amanda) Schmidt, Kimberly (Andy) Schmidt, April (Matt) Wendorff, Justin Trangsrud, Josh (Ariel) Dye, Cody Dye, Tyler Dye, Brandon Trangsrud and Joseph (Katlynn) Trangsrud; great grandchildren, Brianna, Hailey, Rylee, Leanna, Lily, Ethan and coming soon, baby Wendorff; siblings, Mary White, Don (Carol) Stillings; brother-in-law, Jerry Harvey and loving companion Peanut. Cathy is preceded in death by husband Dennis, sons, Jay and Mark, grandson Jayson, great granddaughter Natalie, parents Richard and Camilla, sister Barb Harvey, brother-in-law Ron White. Memorials are preferred to Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery of DeLamere, 8323 146th Ave. S.E., Milnor, North Dakota 58060. Preferred florist: The Vinery (952) 492-5222
