Chad Boldthen of Savage, Minnesota, son of Kathy and Dion Boldthen and father of Rachel Boldthen lost his fight to his long time illnesses on November 7th, 2016. Chad was born on January 16th, 1976 in Le Sueur, Minnesota. He attended Le Sueur Elementary School, graduated from Le Sueur Henderson High School in 1994, and attended college. Shortly after marriage Chad received his most precious gift with the birth of his daughter Rachel in 2003. Chad enjoyed and took great pride in his daughter Rachel. She gave him the will to keep fighting and to enjoy life. Chad loved and treasured fatherhood with the birth and daily life of his daughter Rachel. Chad was very active in his life. Regularly serving as an altar boy at St. Anne's Church and an active 4-H member and officer. Chad competed at the County Fair and State Fair winning many ribbons and trophies. Chad participated in wrestling, debate, Honor Society, Math Counts and was an Eagle Scout. Chad's life was a tug-of-war with his illnesses taking over his body and his body trying to fight the illnesses since the age of 14. But he was a fighter and fight he did. He was not going to give in to the illnesses that were invading his body. Chad chose God to lead him through his path of medical issues. He believed that God would walk beside him and carry him when he was too tired to carry himself. He often would say "as long as I can enjoy and do the things I want to do I feel I am living, rather than living a long life and not experience the things I have." Chad succeeded in his work ethics also. He was a bank manager at TCF, a manager at One Main and a loan officer at BMO Harris. Chad's favorite past times were watching the Vikings, hunting, fishing, woodworking and telling jokes. Chad chose to donate his organs and tissue to the medical field for study in helping others in their illnesses. Chad leaves his family on earth to join his family already in Heaven. He is survived by his daughter Rachel. His parents Kathy and Dion Boldthen and grandmother, Helen Boldthen of Le Sueur. His sister Natasha Thorager of Stillwater, nephew Anders and niece Ariana. His brother Justin of Chaska and sister-in-law Karyna. His sister Tara Dunken of Rochester and brother-in-law Troy and nephew Edison and niece Amelia. His two best friends Bryan Wulk and Tom Gengler. His stepsons Trae and Ryan. Chad is preceded in death by; his Grandpa Lionel Boldthen, his Grandpa Francis Schaefer, his Grandma Bernadette Schaefer, his Uncle Larry Schaefer, and Aunt Donna.
