The angels in heaven are rejoicing for a hero has come home. Charles G. "Bud" Pearson, age 89 of LeSueur died on Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at the Minnesota Valley Health Center in LeSueur. He was born on April 29, 1927 in Minneapolis to Hilding and Gertrude Pearson. Bud graduated from Southwest High School in Minneapolis and entered the U. S. Navy during World War II. He served in the Philippines from 1945 to 1948. He married Elaine Reinhardt of October 8, 1950 at Grace Ev. Lutheran Church in LeSueur. After the war he operated a bike shop in LeSueur for a year and then operated out of his home. He also worked for Wise Furniture and Gosewisch Furniture before operating his own business, Pearson Draperies in Mankato from 1972 until retiring in 2000. His daughter was privileged to have worked with him for over 30 years. Bud was very active and a founding member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in LeSueur, enjoyed being a very active member and volunteer of the LeSueur VFW and American Legion. He worked on bikes and go-carts with his son, Rick, played cards, flew model airplanes and enjoyed time spent with family. He is survived by his daughter, Linda O'Malley of St. Peter, 5 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, a brother, Doug (Bev) Pearson of Scottsdale, AZ and sister-in-law, June (Jim) Plekkenpol of Shakopee and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Elaine in 2002, son, Rick in 2011 and a brother, Robert. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 17, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in LeSueur, with interment in Mound Cemetery in LeSueur. Military rites will be provided by the LeSueur Honor Guard. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Kolden Funeral Home on Thursday, June16 and one hour prior to the services at the church on Friday.
