Chuck (Charlie Brown) Carlson, age 86 of Le Sueur, MN died June 10, 2017 at the Belle Plaine Lutheran Home. Funeral services will be on Thursday, June 15 2017, 11:00 a.m. at Word of Life Lutheran Brethren Church in Le Sueur, MN. Visitation will be at the church Thursday from 9:00-11:00 a. m. before the service. Family burial at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis. Chuck was born October 22, 1930 to Charles and Edna (Lindberg) Carlson in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He graduated from South High School in Minneapolis in 1948. He married Beverly Ficklin on October 28, 1950. Chuck served in the Marine Corps from 1952-1954 in Japan. He worked for a short time in the water department for the City of Minneapolis before starting his career of 25 years with Western Electric. They moved to Bloomington, Minnesota where they raised their family. In 1977 life changed dramatically for them as they became missionaries with Bethany Fellowship. They "sold all that they had" and moved to Puerto Rico, and later to Florida to "grandparent!" In 1996 they retired and have spent many years close to and enjoying family. Survived by wife Bev; Children: Kathy (Eric) Burgdorf of Le Sueur, MN; Jeff (Mary) Carlson of Le Sueur, MN; Jan (Steve) Tessman of Chaka, MN; Kirk Carlson of River Falls, WI; Carmen and Randy Benbow of Bloomington, MN. 11 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers Warren, Clarence, Russell, and LeRoy and sister Audrey Geseking as well as a great grandchild Chris Yunkin. Memorials will be used to further the work in Puerto Rico.
