Chuck Sunderman

Charles L. "Chuck" Sunderman, age 84 of LeSueur died on Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2015 at 11 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in LeSueur. Interment will be in the Mound Cemetery in LeSueur. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. on Friday at the Kolden Funeral Home in LeSueur and one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Chuck was born on October 28, 1930 in Sharon Township, LeSueur County to Raymond and Esther (Case) Sunderman. He graduated from LeSueur High School as Valedictorian and attended Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter for one year. Chuck married Jeanette Mueller on Sept. 18, 1950 at Zion Church in LeSueur. He farmed with his father and brothers on their Sharon Township farm, worked for Easterlund Equipment, sold insurance for Sunderman-Pedersen Insurance and Handwerk Insurance for many years and in retirement worked part time for Experience Works. He was a life-long member of the United Methodist Church, serving as a choir member, trustee and council secretary and was a member of the LeSueur Lion's Club for over 50 years. He was an avid league and traveling league bowler, serving as the local secretary and statistician and was a member of the Minnesota Bowling Hall of Fame. He enjoyed golfing at the LeSueur Country Club and the Montgomery National Golf Club. He also enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, visiting with family at Deb's cabin at Ely, delivered Meals on Wheels, Food Shelf volunteer and Silver Sneakers. Survivors include his wife, Jeanie; children, Linda (Gerald) Grack and Sally (Chester) Gaugert of LeSueur and Susan Sunderman of LaGrange, NC; 5 grandchildren, Amy (Travis) Grack Nelson, Jeffrey Grack, Melissa Gaugert, Emily (Royner) Gaugert-Jimenez and Samantha Lawrence; 5 great-grandchildren, Jonathan, Timothy & Jeremiah Gaugert, Trenton & Dane Grack; 2 brothers, Dale (Annette) Sunderman of LeSueur & Duane (Louise) Sunderman of St. Peter; sister-in-law, Georgianna (Byron) Doyle of Stillwater, nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents, sister, Marilyn Sunderman and sisters-in-law, Gertrude Moore and Dorothy Latini
