Dale B. Bode

Dale B. Bode, age 92 of Marietta, GA and formerly of Arlington, MN passed away November 17, 2023 at The Oaks at West Cobb in Marietta, GA. A small family graveside service at Arlington Public Cemetery with Military Honors on Monday, 3:30 p.m. June 3, 2024.

Dale Bernhard Bode was born on June 3, 1931 in New Ulm to parents Bernhard and Sophie (Gieseke) Bode. He was baptized on July 5, 1931 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Wabasso by Rev. Erwin Baumann. Dale was confirmed on March 25, 1945 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Arlington by Rev. John Bradtke. Dale’s elementary school years were spent between New Ulm and Minneapolis followed by grades 9-12 in Arlington where he graduated in 1949. Following school, he enlisted in the US Airforce, serving years 1950 – 1954 mainly in Europe running remote radio relay stations. After returning from service, he worked with his dad at Arlington Implement before meeting the love of his life, Eileen A. Ische. They were married on June 2, 1956 at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Hamburg by Rev. Wohlfelt. Dale began working for William Mueller and Sons where he later became a partner. Dale retired in June, 1996. Dale was a founding member of Peace Lutheran Church and served as usher and elder over the years. He and Eileen were lifelong residents of Arlington before moving to Kingsway Retirement Living in Belle Plaine in August, 2021. Following Eileen’s passing in December, 2022 Dale moved to The Oaks of West Cobb in Marietta, GA to be near family.

Dale enjoyed spending time with family who he loved dearly and was very proud of. He loved fishing, especially when it involved grandkids. In the early years the family enjoyed camping and fishing together, while later in life their lake home in Akeley was a wonderful retreat and family gathering place. He always enjoyed telling a good story, eating a good meal, and happy hour. His wife Eileen was the love of his life and he provided loving care for her in her last years.

Dale is survived by his children; Mike (Paula) Bode, Marietta, GA, Mitch (Robin) Bode, Novi, MI, and Lisa (Bob) Born of Kennesaw, GA, grandchildren; Nick (Meghan) Bode, Marietta, GA, Megan (Aaron) Bode-Anderson, Louisville, KY, Ben (Erin) Bode, Royal Oak, MI, Lauren (Landon) Hubbard, San Diego, CA, Adam Born, Atlanta, GA, Lizzy Born, Atlanta, GA, great grandchildren; Olivia, Baer, Tyler and Dean, sister; Dorothy Roth, Hastings, MN.

Dale is preceded in death by his wife, Eileen on 12/23/2022, his parents; father, Bernhard (Ben) on 11/21/1967 and his mother, Sophie on 10/26/1994
