Dale G. Westberg

Dale G. Westberg, devoted husband, father and grandfather, age 72 of Henderson, formerly of Bloomington, passed away peacefully of lung cancer Sunday, July 17, 2011. Memorial Mass will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 22 at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Le Sueur. Fr. George Grafsky will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to Mass at the church. Dale was born on February 16, 1939 to Harold and Margaret (Winter) Westberg in Minneapolis. He grew up in Richfield and graduated from Richfield High School in 1957. He married Bette Jane Sissala in Gilbert at St. Joseph Catholic Church on December 29, 1962. He worked for Xcel Energy in Minneapolis for 37 years, as a Forman, retiring in 1995. He battled his cancer with courage, dignity and strength for two years. But God wanted him to be with him! Waiting to welcome him in Heaven are his parents; grandparents, and beloved sister, Lori Ann Brendel. He is survived by his wife, Bette Jane of 48 ½ years; son, Troy Westberg of Henderson and daughter, Tina (Jeff) Lewis of Lakeville; grandchildren, Kayla Jane, Kory and Karly Lewis; brothers, Jim (Karen) Westberg of Burnsville and Doug Westberg of Ek River and many nieces, nephews and cousins. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the Dale G. Westberg fund at 600 Ridge Rd., Henderson, Mn. The family would like to thank Dr. Dalton, Division of Oncology, Mayo Clinic at the Andrews Cancer Center in Mankato and staff for their wonderful care and also the Intensive Care Unit at St. Mary's Hospital.
