Dana Lawrence

Dana Lawrence, age 76 of Jordan, passed away on Sunday, March 29, 2026 at The Lutheran Home in Belle Plaine, surrounded by her children. Memorial service will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 11, 2026 at the Kolden Funeral Home in Belle Plaine. Pastor Ed Fredrich will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials are preferred.

Dana was born in Princeton, MN on December 4, 1949. She was raised in Minneapolis and graduated from Roosevelt High School. She went on to attend beauty school and worked as a beautician before she was married, had her first child, and started her own in-home daycare business. There’s nothing Dana loved more than children and having a family of her own. She often said her favorite part of life was becoming a mother and raising her four children. Throughout the years Dana enjoyed outdoor activities such as sailboat racing, horseback riding, water skiing, & camping. She felt most at home in a boat on the water. Dana loved her family with her whole heart. She would do anything possible for family which included caring for her elderly mother for many years. Dana found comfort and protection through faith in God and was a proud American who loved and honored her country.

She is survived by her children, Heidi (Lawrence) St. Martin, Lance Lawrence, Tera (Lawrence) Wilson & husband Ray Wilson and Todd Lawrence. Former Husband whom she shared four children, Mark Lawrence. Grandchildren, Cory St. Martin, Alison St. Martin, and Jack St. Martin. Brother, Roger Schmatz.

Dana is preceded in death by her parents, Andrew C. Schmatz and Viola J. Schmatz. Siblings, Charles A. Schmatz and John M. Schmatz.
